Hello everybody!(:

Haha, at this point of time, all the guys are already serving our wonderful nation via a term known as "national service" and all the girls are already studying in a university or for some, waiting for overseas university yeah. Its been fast, 2 years ++ (already coming to a 3) has passed since our class have formed up, and yes, all of us little ones have grown through the greenery of TJ, and look at all of us now on where we are standing, at our recent class lunch at sakura(:. haha. Anyhow, everyone must continue jiayou-ing okay, as we all embark upon a different phase of life all together.

Despite whatever challenges we might face/are facing at this current point in time, 22/08 will always forever be up and running. we're awesome yo!(:

p.s. Mrs Lim! you still there? haha. It's been long since everyone heard from you! hope you're doing fine! wee.

雨过天晴

大家好. 六月考试成绩应该都领回了吧！对于那些考得好的同学，继续加油。考不好的，就好好检讨，把不懂的弄到懂为止。千万不要胡思乱想~

雨过总会天晴，不管是狂风暴雨，还是连绵小雨，总有停的时候。所以，不要害怕雨天的黑暗，坚持到底的人一定会看见雨后美丽的彩虹。 :)

这是我在台湾玉山拍的彩虹，刚好是“双胞胎彩虹”。一个比较明显，另一个没有那没明显，仔细看还是看得到。这张是清晨快六点钟时拍的。为什么会在那个时候拍照呢？因为本来是要在高山上看漂亮的日出，但是天不作美下起绵绵细雨。就在大家都很失望之余，无意间看见这么漂亮的彩虹。换个角度想，应该感谢这小雨，因为它让那天的人们看到了平时上玉山看日出的人所没有看见的景色。

所以，不要把JCT给你的挫折当成失败，反而，应该因此而更加努力，换取A水准考试的成功！

和你们分享以前我在淡初时候，副校长的勉励：

Hi boys and girls! By now, you should all have gotten back your JCT results. For those who did well, congratulations, keep on working hard! for those who did not, do some self reflection and make clear your doubts! dont think too much and continue working hard!

After the rain, it will always be accompanied by lovely weather. Be it a big heavy thunderstorm, or just a slight drizzle, the rain will stop somehow. So do not be frightened by the blustery skies and the threatening weather; only those who persist will be able to see that magnificent and beautiful seven coloured rainbow at the end. (:

This is a picture of a double rainbow I took when i was in Taiwan. One being more obvious than the other, but if you strain just by a bit, perhaps you'll be able to see it in the picture. The picture was taken bright and early in the morning. Why would I be able to take the picture at that point of time? Thats because, initially i wanted to see the beautiful sunrise from the top of a hill in taiwan, but there was slight rain, just when everyone was disappointed, it came out this beautiful double rainbow. so, seeing from another perspective, it is all thanks to this slight drizzle, that allowed us to see something out of the ordinary.

so, do not ever see JCT results as permernant failure. Rather, bounce back high, work hard, and finally gain success in all of your A levels.

oh yeah, one more thing before i go,

in the midst of rising panic and apprehension over the looming jcts and H1N1 alien attack, we are here to provide you with a story of light-hearted relief and exceedingly intelligent acts of one of our members of the clan, Jerm BusterGay.

JBG is our planet's proudest achievement when it comes to dancing, particularly in ParaParaParadise, where His Holiness has accomplished the by-no-means easy feat of coming in SECOND PLACE. We are highly proud of JBG and his achievement and are of no doubt that it will aid tremendously in his future scholarship applications.

Baby Boom

Hi Class!

Sorry for MIA, I have recently been slightly more busy and not taking any pictures, and my life is pretty stable now with no major changes.

This baby is taken of Sam, the baby of my new friend here in US. My friend Karen gave birth recently and she sent me some pictures of him, isn't he such a darling? At this very moment, my elder sister is also expecting and in her third trimester already, I am missing out a lot, not being there to help her out. I will be returning to Singapore during summer time and I do hope that I get to see all the action of delivery of my first nephew! When Karen described her ordeal during childbirth, I cringed throughout, all the mothers in the world are truly noble beings!

That being said, Mother's Day is coming soon, have you planned anything for your mum? It's a good time to show your appreciation and gratitude. When I was growing up, my relationship with my mum wasn't exactly the best, but it has improved so much now. Well, never take your mum for granted, it is always good to say "Thank you" to her for her kindness and what she has done for you, including putting food on the table and washing your clothes for you. Well, she may nag at you, your siblings, your Dad and everyone in the world, but she means well after all. Actually teachers nag a lot too, ya?

The class blog feels so dead. MCTs are over! Anyway, duathlon was just over and I thought I would share a few pictures with the class.

Yea it was very tiring but also quite rewarding when you cross the finish line and everyone cheers for you. Position did not matter to me, just completing the course was triumph in itself =D Also a good way to take a break from work work and more work. Hope everyone is well.

派成绩啦！很高兴听到你们一班全及格，而且有的也考得很不错！希望你们的PW成绩也会非常优异。本来真的打算今天回淡初看看（自-high一下也好），何奈，得见教授没法回去啦。看到你们Mrs Lim 和Mr Ho 都有放照片，我想了很久，突然看见以前用的书签，想起羊咩咩，就把它拍下，放上来了。还记得羊咩咩吧！

其实，听到你们都考得不错，心里踏实了点。我真的很怕，因为我不是职业老师的关系，害得你们什么都没学到，更害到后来的两个老师要做“damage control”。所以，很好！今年都高二了吧，很快的要考A水准考试了。要加油哦~尤其是那些sports dpd和那些课外活动很忙的同学，这段时间会很累，很压力，大家要互相扶持，要乐观前进。:) 这篇看起来好像很短。再写多一点点吧！哈哈，有没有人突然很想念读华文？不要紧，想来上课都是我一个人自言自语，为了让这篇看起来长一点，我就随便乱讲一些自己的大学生活吧。哦，有没有人过一个星期要来国大的开放日啊？废话要开始了。嗯，我现在读得大概都是你们大多数人最害怕的吧——CHINESEEEEEE! 学些什么呢？基本上我拿了5科。

讲1科就好了，就讲第一个吧。这个星期的课，学一些我小学就学，但是到现在还没有办法全会的东西：笔顺、笔画、部首等等。你们小学的时候，老师就教了吧。我也一样，我的同学们也一样，但是，昨天的tutorial叫我们算笔画，大家也会算错,算不出来。哈哈,常常我们以为自己已经知道的事，其实我们根本就不清楚到底是怎么一回事。学习就是这么一回事。所以才会说“温故能知新”，温习旧的东西可以知道新的事情。

试着虚心地去重新认识自己以为很清楚的事，或许世界对你而言会更美好。:)

Artichoke

I always see this funny looking vegetable (or flower bud?) in the grocery store, and the name is Artichoke. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artichoke) Many times I walked past it and wondered, is this edible? Do we have this in Singapore? I guess I was not on the market scene long enough to answer that.

Finally I bought one when it was on sale at USD2.50. Very expensive considering it does not even make a meal. I rushed home to look at recipes to cook it, just need to boil with water, garlic, bay leaves for half an hour and it is done, easy!

The fleshy part at the bottom of each leaf is the edible part, will not recommend the top part which is fibrous and bitter. I just have to put the leaf into my mouth and use my teeth to scrape the ends off.

Online recipes recommend dipping into butter, and it actually taste quite good! Creamy, soft, a little mushroom-y flavour without the chewiness.

Do I like it? Well, I don't mind it, I probably will buy it again.

Hummingbird feeder

I bought a hummingbird feeder online and decided to try it out. I have seen these cute hummies hovering around my complex and saw some neighbours having the feeders on their patio.

The liquid inside is simply sugary water (brown sugar, hence the colour). Many people add edible red colouring as well to attract the hummingbirds, but I read that it could be carcinogenic, so we decided to leave that out. The centre of the yellow flowers are where the birds will draw out the sugar treat.

Days 1 and 2 I did not pay much notice to the feeder hanging on our balcony.

Today is day 3, and there was a power short circuit, the entire neighbouhood is out of electricity, so I decided to stay and watch if there would be any hummies out there. After a short while,

There you go, a hummingbird comes to visit! Such cute fellas! I read also that they will remember the place where they found food and will visit again. This evening alone I had 5 sightings of at least 2 hummingbirds (a male and a female), not bad!

okay, hey guys. jermain here.hahaha. updating the class blog, as the title states, the post will be about the class cip held from the 9-10th December 2008. I guess no one has really posted up about anything yet right? so for memories sake, i shall type a reeaaally long wordy-pictury post for this one. Cos, i kindda feel this is one of the major events that our class has been through as a whole. okay, and for the benefit of everyone, here goes, btw, there're no pictures on the first day, so unless if you're relaly bored do read through, am blogging cos am tired from today's CNY celebration. haha. okay, so before i begin, many thanks to lavina, vanessa, khehyang and annette for the pictures taken during the cip. haha. and also to everyone who worked hard for this event, especially our class reps vannessa and soon hui. haha.

okay, so after about 2 travel downs to the centre at pending(near chua chu kang) for some preparation the days finally arrived, the cip days. Us excited? nervous? sianned? just mixed feelings i guess in everyone. But i guess, almost all of us had to drag our unconcious bodies up at like 6am to meet at bedok to head down all the way to chua chu kang. haha, and many of us slept late the previous night i guess. Like jingjing, van and I had band concert the day before. I guess we all went home late, and, yup, so basically everyone was feeling more of tired and sianned i guess. hahaha. So Annette and vannessa went to the front of the centre to prepare the administratives, rest of us in the "heaven room" preparing all the stuff for the kids, and some of us at the main hall. Basically, the centre has, a room just for us, a main hall(which is like 3 rooms big) and a small corridor, with a void deck area outside and a big net ball court for us to use.

so thereafter, the kids finally arrived, split into groups. and the group ics did some warm up games. Sihui, Shawn and I were in the same group, with judith and khehyang in one, lavina, Samuel, Shing jiuan in one, and hong lii and yuan teng were the leaders of another group. haha. The rest were helping out with logistics, station masters, etc and so many other things! we started off in small groups some small ice breaker games. I guess the most common one for everyone is blow wind blow. Kids from all different sizes, shapes, ages, from the youngest being primary 2 to the oldest being secondary 1. games like 007, tempo game were being played as well. Thereafter, the class joined everyone, and played 2 big ice breaker games, blow wind blow, and hunter-squirrel-tree game. haha. i still cant forget the last part of that game.

I shouted, " EVERYONE, I GOT SOMETHING VERY VERY IMPORTANT TO TELL YOU ALL"

-awkward silence-

softly: "earthquake".

haha, which was kindda irritating, but nvm, for fun's sake. haha. anyhow, thereafter, everyone self introed.

okay anyhow, here's a pic of everyone's name tag. The first activity after that, TIKI MAKING. I guess thats when everyone suddenly found everything difficult. First of all, trying to get the group together were really hard things. There were a significantly larger number of malay boys, and chinese girls. so, i guess trying to get them to draw things on the tiki was really hard. Or well, alot of conviction, energy, nice tone was being spent onto them. i guess that was when we all learnt that dealing with kids wasnt such an easy task after all. well, at least from what i remembered. haha. Tried to convince and convince, some worked, some didnt. but it was just hard. haha, so after 2 hours of ordeals, all of us pulled through and all 4 groups had their tikis made. It was lunch thereafter, did a hungry cheer, with shawn, and thereafter, headed for the next activity, station games. Haha, but during lunch, alot of us headed back to "heaven room" to get some peace from the kids, well, except for really nice souls like judith and khehyang who stayed with them to eat. haha, thereafter, station games.

Okay, i guess the kids enjoyed this one the most. It consisted of, the dark obstacle course, the draw, act, guess, the run run game, and the picking up things with bamboo game. Okay well, the dark obstacle course wasnt meant to be scary, but i guess we added the element of fear just for fun's sake. haha. The kids i guess really enjoyed that one, and also those who prepared the course i guess really took a lot of hard work into doing it.Draw, act, guess was also really fun towards them i guess. Or well, the whole station games really got the rest of them really happy. Or well, at least enjoying themselves. I guess, after this, the kids was just really looking forward into playing more station games. haha. Tea break after that.

Did the mass dance after that, when apparently the class went mad with the kids into dancing into the tune of speedy, with Lihui and Lavina as the instsructors! haha. and finally day one's over. I guess everyone was reaaaally tired after the first day from all the highness, well, i rememberd shouting alot also, which earned me the nickname shouty. haha. and also others who got nicks too, like, shorty, giant, ali baba, well, haha, i guess. yup, The class really got really tired thereafter and just went really tired at the heaven room. haha. but after it was over, lihui revised with soon hui on the dance steps, decided to join in.

TA-DA. haha. finally, a picture after long. haha. okay, im blocking soonhui, but still. hahaha. okay, the class went to pasta mania at the nearby mall, and thereafter headed back all the way to east with everyone feeling really lethargic on the ride. i guess everyone was really tired thereafter. haha.

Again, second day, the morning's about the same, everyone feeling really tired, dragging unconcious bodies again. but some of us met for breakfast at pasir ris first. Okay, the 2nd day there was slightly better, cos the kids were sort of warmed up to us already, so i guess they were more cooperative in a sense. The day started off with a second set of station games. We were supposed to have an excursion, but i guess it got cancelled off due to administrative problems. Warmed them up with mass games again at the void deck.

Then, the station games started, well, at least the 2nd set of station games started. They will have to do a whole new different set of things. But for now, i can only remember, telling ghost stories to jocelyn which have to try making her scared, going into a dark room and using do-re-mi to get a blind folded person all around the place to reach for a certain object, guessing the person/person's face by means of powerpoint, where we will first block the picture with boxes, and slowly remove one by one. haha. cant remember the last one. But yeah, everyone was more cooperative in a way.. haha. below are some pictures from telling the ghost stories to jocelynn.

Okay, then thereafter, lunch, cheered, this time group leaders were being asked to eat with the members, so yup, squeezed there. then went to to building a ship with recycled materials. And woa, kids can really surprise you with the level of intelligence they have nowadays. 4 cool ships were being built. haha. and yup. they had to earn the materials to build the ship. Like doing butt dances to get paper, or markers, just asking from Daniel, or having to tell 3 good things about your group leaders to get cardboard. But ahh, they sure amazed me all right. haha. Well, some shots of what happened then:

When finished, everyone played captain's ball. I guess, had some fun? haha. and finally, the last 2nd event was 2 games, some rafia string like game where you had to go through a maze of strings and if i didnt remember wrongly, picking up objects with bamboos. I guess, they had alot of fun with the maze as well, cos it was kindda hard, and its dark. okay, i guess everyone looks for excitement. haha.

And finally, the last day had come to a close end. haha. Prize presentation after that, and lihui taught some of the kids who were being chosen for some performance the mass dance. New Year, New Hope

Hi my dear students,

Sorry for my absence, I have been away on a road trip with some teachers from TJC. 4 of them came to visit me and we managed a road trip together, travelling around California. Arizona, Nevada and spending Christmas and New Year together. Nothing beats having familiar faces around, the company was great, and the scenery of the places we visited was simply breath-taking.

Whenever my students move up to JC2, I always feel they mature overnight, and are more focused in whatever they do. I hope you all will adjust well into your final year in TJC and get used to endless tests and extra lessons prepared for you. Perhaps you can think from the standpoint of the teachers, before any paper is given for you to try out, many hours were put into it from scratch to finish, and the marking that teachers have to do to identify your weak areas/ misconception actually helps you. Extra lessons are there to give you more opportunity to ask your tutors questions, and by giving you extra coaching, this does not mean that the teacher gets less duties from the school. So, no complaining ok, you simply got to push yourself all the way this time round.

And no more skipping lessons or missing lectures. You guys do the right thing ok? If not when I return I will hunt you down.

You guys take good care, and watch out for each other, be kind to one another.

Hi 22/08,

Happy new year! Time flies and we are now in 2009 :)

I'm dropping by to see how you guys are doing lah, as well as sharing how I have been coping all this while in university.

I'm having my semester break and will be starting school like you all on 12th Jan. For the past few months, uni life has been really hectic with studies and involvement in CCA. Perhaps without much surprise, I joined this CCA called NUS Political Association and will be organising a Current Affairs/ General Knowledge Quiz, targetting students like you all, to be held next year.

Hectic yes but nonetheless it was fulfilling. Got back my uni results for first semester just 2 days before Xmas (on 23/12), but luckily performed beyond expectations so I guessed I had a rather smooth first semester in university.

If you cant see clearly, I'm on the extreme left of the photo. Basically, me and my friends were wearing the ceremonial military uniform which we called the "No. 1". We were helping our superior, who was getting married, to be his swordbearers for the wedding ceremony. Was an interesting experience and just some of the events/ things I did during this semester break.

2009 is the A Level year and just like any other year, without u realising, you would have finished your JCTS, prelims, A Levels and attended Grad nite. So do treasure the year ahead spent with the class because time really flies!!

Hmm...if there's one thing to bring over from 2008, I think is Barack Obama's (testing your General Paper here ar) message of 'Yes, We Can'.

Stuck in Singapore

Hello, everyone!

What follows is a narrative of some of the stuff I've experienced over the holidays and would like to share. In other words, this is the narcissist side of me asserting itself. Please check your skepticism at the door before you read on (especially if you've been overseas).

Here are some photos of my exploits during the holidays. Yes, poor me was stuck in Singapore the whole hols. Tried to make the best out of it by visiting some of the more interesting parts (I'm aware this is subjective) of Singapore. The first set of photos are from Henderson Waves, the highest bridge in Singapore. I went a little trigger-happy with the shutter button, but I'll just put up a few.

The waves are a nice bit of aesthetic design. And it's design meets functionality, since those waves serve as alcoves for shelter from the blistering sun.

My best attempts to depict the height of the bridge have met without much success. Up there, height is an emotion, a giddy, awe-inducing emotion. It's worse still if you peer through the cracks between the planks. It's a long drop to the busy road below.

The actual bridge from another perspective, taken after I've overcome my obsession with the height. And no, those aren't my brothers. =)

Umbrellas won't help when you're that high up.

The Marina Barrage's next.

Of all the technical terms I could use to describe what they're doing at the Barrage, perhaps this photo would suffice. If an explanation's still needed, they're converting the Marina Basin into a body of freshwater. There's also flood control being done there. For more details, go to Wiki.

Say 'Hi' to the NeWater kid.

This last one's taken at East Coast Park. It caught my eye because it's a form of graffiti, which you don't exactly see a lot of in Singapore, especially in a park where everything's so regulated.

Los Angeles and Yolo Wildlife Area

How nice to go for a swim with friends and hole up in a stem cell lab! These are the things I would like to do too :)

I have returned from Los Angeles and here to share some pictures with you. American weddings are unlike our traditional sit-down dinners, it was very interactive and there was dancing, chatting, playing games, etc. My friend, the bride, looks ravishing in her cheongsam. I was her attendant for the night, running errands and making sure the small details were taken care of. And I met many other fellow Singaporeans who happened to be in US as well, it was really nice to speak in Singlish and occasional Hokkien, ho seh ah!

The wedding was a blast and we were really glad to be there for my dear friend as she walked down the aisle with the man of her dreams. She is a brave woman, she always has been.

En route from LA back home, we stopped by one of the beaches along Santa Barbara (forgot to check out the name) for a quick picnic. It was a 7 hour drive home so we needed to stop somewhere for a rest. The beach was bea-you-ti-ful!

Just yesterday, we visited the Yolo Wildlife Area, which is basically a designated wetland for flora and fauna. Undisturbed, quiet and a good sanctuary for the animals, especially the birds. We went with some friends and shared one pair of binoculars. I did not like bird watching until yesterday. The scenery here is awesome, the pictures speak for themselves.

Hope to see more of you blogging since it is the holidays now. Maybe of the class CIP?

Hihi.
For the past 2 weeks, i have been in the stem cell lab in NUS for the science attachment program.

Hi people!

Miss you all very much! How is everyone? OP should be over now and you can officially enjoy some peace and serenity. It has been a hectic year isn't it? Well, JC life was definitely the busiest time of my life as a student, juggling many things on my plate. I remember I did not watch a single movie in the two years in JC and pretty much kept working and working in college for my studies and for PDP. Friends were great and we were often hanging out together rushing projects out or pretending to study in some fast food restaurant when we actually yek and yek the whole time.

How would you sum up your year in TJC? Are you happy with all that you have gained so far?

Over here in the other part of the world, I am contented with what I have. I have lots of time! Hee... I have gone to the sacramento zoo to see snow leopard, giant anteater and red panda, and many others!

It was a nice little zoo but unfortunately the animals were in cages with little freedom. The Singapore Zoo has done it better with the enclosures and provided habitats and space that helped the animals to live slightly better though in captivity.

It is the fall season right now and the weather is getting a little cooler. Being a tropical girl all my life this really needs some time to get accustomed to. But I like the dry air here, and my complexion has cleared up significantly. See picture below for evidence:

CL 'A' level has finally 告一段落, now we shall focus on our OP.
Props are well received by the examiners to brighten up their dull morning. It's HOLIDAY!
and teachers also want a break. going back to school for OP examination will make them feel sick too.
so everyone, please put up a good show (and perhaps bring along something "real" which the examiner can really see the effort/enjoy the presentation rather than just PLAIN powerpoint!) and you will certainly be rewarded with great results.

Hi guys!

So happy for all of you that Promos the ultimate nightmare is over! Give yourself a pat on the back because you have tried your best! I wont think about Promos anymore if I were you, whether done well or not, because there is nothing that can be done anymore and so many things to look forward to! Like the coming holidays, like PW (which is very very important) and simply taking time to hang out with friends, watch a movie, shop or staying home to help clear the clutter in your room...

Here's an update of what I have been up to! The following pictures show our apartment when we first arrived.

We have furnished the place fully now and it is quite a cosy home to us. I spend the most time at home watching TV and cooking. Life without SPA is really wonderful, haha!

We also went to downtown San Francisco for a day trip.

Girl on left is my new friend from China, doing graduate studies in the university. Man in center is a random person on the street who dressed himself up for tourists to take pictures.

We saw so many seals at the fisherman's wharf! This is one of them when it swam close by. The rest (hundreds of them) were too far away.

Then this is the world's crookedest road, but it is not turned clock-wise, so you have to turn your head 90 deg anticlockwise to make sense of the video. sorry!

That more or less sums up our visit. We will return again when our friends visit us at the end of the year.

As I was compiling my chinese notes for the past 3 weeks and doing my work for philosophy module, Yes 933 was playing the song 蒲公英. It reminds me of 22/08 blog. Haha, hence, I was distracted and started viewing this site. I was surprised I actually get teachers' day greeting from Jermaine. Thanks.. ^.^ I suppose it is Sept term break now and most of you will be busy 'mugging' away. Still, HAPPY HOLIDAYS~

Ferris wheel never fails to make me happy, so I took a picture of my ferris wheel musicbox hoping that it might alleviate the stress you are getting from exam preparation. :D

I recall those days when I was preparing for my Promotional Exam, haha, it was horrible. All those numbers, formulae,equations and nonsense logics were nightmares. Haha! Well, if you happen to be like me, I have a good news for you. Appreciate those numbers and formulae. You cant imagine how horrible it is to be doing equations and deriving logics from chuncks of undecipherable words. Hence, as I was trying to do that in my philosophy assignments, for once I rather those are numbers. Haha! It is a psycological comfort that someone is struggling with/more than you, right? I am not being saddist but it is true as you know you are not struggling alone. Turn the word 'stressed' over, and you will get 'desserts'! So, enjoy!

Lastly, all the best in your Promotional Exam as well as CHINESE A'LEVEL EXAM! *evil smile* Okay, even you think that you havent prepare enough, just pray hard before the exam starts and hope that someone up there will save you. But there again, He only save those who want to save themselves. So, be sensible!

Don't quit for every obstacle is a stepping stone to success.

Time flies...!

Dear students,

It's been a while since I last blogged here, I have been busy with my world tour, ha...(actually was busy meeting up with ex-colleagues, friends, relatives, ah ma, family, everyone!) There were also plenty of things to buy in preparation of the trip and plenty of things to throw out too. Packing took days and we are about 90% done now. Many friends who have stayed in the States have also given advice on what to do when we get there, what we can buy there and should not bring, what is lacking there and we must pack into our bags..a lot of things to take care of, and I feel like a fully independent grown-up finally, having to worry about housing, transport, 3 meals a day and starting all over again.

I went back to NUS today to request for my transcripts. The procedure took only a while and I had lots of time to look around the place. I took the shuttle buses a few times to cover most part of the school and lots of memories surfaced. Indeed, time flies and I have graduated from this place for years already. As a student I wondered how working life would be like, how would my students be like, how would my colleagues and bosses be like...I really enjoyed myself in TJ, really...

This week I also learnt to make Tiramisu from one of the TJ teachers so that my husband will have something different to eat rather than the usual dishes. It was quite nice in fact. I also excitedly welcomed a new baby into this world! (not mine, but a friend's, remember I am not preggy, haha). I will be visiting the baby in the hospital tomorrow, this is so exhilarating! Was worried that I will miss all the action and fussing over the newborn :)

How are you all getting on? I hope you are still enjoying every bit of college life. I will try to update all of you how I am getting on. I also hear that some of you might turn up at the airport, please stay at home alright? As I said, time flies, and I will be home really, really soon.

Happy belated National Day to you all! Hope the short-lived holidays have been a gd break from the hectic JC life, particularly from all the tests held in the past week :)

So what has happened in Mr Ho's life for the past 2 weeks since he finally left TJ??
Hmm...Hmm....Hmm.....Hmm.....

Hmm.....nothing more than spending whatever time which was available to smoothen the transition to uni life and going out with friends (uni friends, JC friends etc)..

Uni life....if u would like to compare to what u all are currently experiencing as JC students, is definitely very different...life in university is heavily based on independent learning and also taking the initiative to get things done...no lecturer or tutor is going to guide you step by step with regards to the tasks or readings that need to be done..so if can, do yourself a favour by starting to take more initiative in whatever work you are doing now in JC so uni life wouldnt be that tough to transit to :)

Even as im writing this post, im feeling a tinge of anticipation and excitement since school is finally going to start in like another 12 hrs time..hah...and guess what..the first uni lecture im attending is an Econs lecture and the content is similar to what i have taught u all the past few months since it is an introductory lecture.....i think i will be so paiseh in the event i didnt score well for this particular econs module im taking :X

Hmm....i guess then, as a uni arts student, what excites me is the opportunity to study things which i have interests in, taking modules that speak to my passion bah...for eg this semester, the modules i will be taking include 1) introduction to econs, 2) introduction to political sci 3) introduction to japanese studies 4) a history module about Asia and 5) a Japanese studies module looking at Geisha and Samurai ..yupyup

Oh well, even as i look forward to uni life, i still miss the time in TJ, not only as a relief teacher but also when i was a student...since TJ was like my second home for the past few years i have been there...hmm...but LIFE GOES ON and i will drop by occasionally with the free time i have to pay u all a visit not jus in the blog but also physically in school :)

Hi everybody! By the time u read this my Taiwan buddy would have returned back 2 Taiwan. Haix. Now I will be all alone at home again. Although its really taxing on my grades as well as on the rate which I complete my homework, I feel that it is worth every minute and second because its not extremely common 2 have someone from another country homestaying in your house. Futhermore, its has an unnatural feeling especially if u r a single child (like ME!)

Well... As for the part which all the girls say he's very handsome (especially the NJC girls), all I have got 2 say is that he feels quite suprised (or at least is faking it REALLY well) with the attention he's been getting.

He could make really funny unintentional one-liners in class, for example :"你们都会讲中文的啊!" - You all know how 2 speak chinese!

Teething Issues

Yup! Went missing for a while to hide my "chipmunk" face from the world. Now the swollen cheeks are better but I still have some traces of blood from my 3 wounds, hee...

I removed the wisdom teeth because they might be a potential source of worry a few years down the road. I saw them in my dental x-ray years back, but did not think much about it because like everyone else, we only go to the dentist when the pain starts right? But since I will be away for quite a while and have time on my hands, so...

It was quite traumatic for me as you all know I didn't like needles at all. I opted for the general anaesthesia via gas. I was reassured that I will be gassed out, but as I lay unglamourous on the cold operating theatre bed feeling all ready, a new doctor appeared and held my left hand,"Why won't you let us give you a prick at the back of your hand, my dear? We can give you a lot of things that will really help you with the surgery, you know..." I knew it, it's the inevitable now.

The doctors and nurses were really gentle and tried to talk to me to divert my attention while they looked for my tiny green vein to insert the needle, and before I knew it, it was done. I looked at the needle stucked into my hand and it was not too bad. Not to the extent I will start yelling at everyone. Then they passed me the gas mask and obediently I breathed in and out a few times, and before I know it, "wake up, the surgery's over, wake up."

The first few post-surgery hours were more tormenting. Blood was everywhere! Ok, I am exaggerating here, but there was no end to the bleeding for hours. Every other patient who went through the same procedure left, and I was the last one, with 2 gauzes stuffed into my mouth, on the wounds to stop the bleeding. At long last the bleeding subsided and I was discharged from the hospital.

As I was under GA, I was really groggy and blur, for the next few days. I only ate and slept and watched TV throughout the week, doing little else. Was given 8 days MC but I actually didn't need it, ha! I opened the container that held my 3 wisdom teeth today and finally took a look at them. 2 were whole but one was in pieces. I supposed they sawed/drilled it into pieces for easy removal. Erm, there were also some bits of brown stuff that looked like remnants of gums, yup.

Anyway, just to share my experience here, not to scare you all. It really is quite painless and bearable. Some of you might need to go through it sooner than others, but it really is ok. I survived. Yup.

Dear students,

Nice blog! Glad to see so many people in action in the class blog!

Wow, I really feel appreciated by all of you when I flipped the Little Black Book. It certainly means a lot to me to know that I have made a difference to you all. I showed off to Mr. Lim the husband the moment I reached home from the Parent-tutor dialogue :P

It is amazing that you all managed to put everything together in such a short time and furnished the pages with baby photos too. How cute some of you looked! I decided to share mine too.

I am currently tying up loose ends in the office and trying to help out in whatever I can to the department. I am also taking forever to clear my stuff from the tables and drawers. Just handed over the excuse letters and MCs to Mr. Goh, haha, your class has far too many such papers! I got to use a box to contain them. hey! My first time blogging in the class blog. Whoo :)
If you click onto everybody's name, there will be a short profile appearing. For mine, it's 1444. its a perfect square! haha. Go work it out ;) It's created by Kang Wei of 3108. Have a good laugh after calculating.

well....guess the class is upset abt it....me too......rong sheng even wrote in the black book" why must you leave us"...well guess it's time to let go and move on......but let wish mrs lim at the best for whatever she do....u will have our support......oh ya....and thks for the letter.....it really make me feel that u are a real real caring teacher...perhaps one of the best teacher i ever had....thks for all........thks for knowing and willing to share so much......haha....but anw i'm not really not afraid of anything........it's not really what it is......oh..nvm....shall talk abt it next time.....

10 ways to beat and severly trash STRESS

Is stress getting to your head? Feeling kinda jittery in class, panicky at home or having isommia at night? Here are several tips for relieving stress.

1) Buy a one-way airticket to Afganistan and live there for 10 years.

Its guranteed that you will be more than willing to return back to Singapore after your long, relaxing vacation.

2) Collect snails and slugs from a nearby garden to pour salt over them.

The viciousness of the snails and slugs shrivelling from the salt is a sure-fire way to brighten up your day. What a great way to learn about osmosis too (Bio SPA).

3) Open your phone directory, call a random person and claim to be from a pizza store. Then, confirm an imaginary list of 'ordered' food and say that it would arrive at the person's doorstep shortly.

Who doesn't love a splice of pizza cut straight from its introns, still hot and fresh.

4) Redo ALL the primary 3 xi zi (chinese practise writing) for fun.

Your hand would be so painful that you wouldn't notice that your head hurting from stress.

5) Drink 1.0mol/dm3 of acidified potassium maganate (VII).

Its rumoured to be beneficial for the stomach and kidneys. Besides, it would turn you into a nice shade of purple.

6) Edit the entries on Wikipedia, especially articles regarding Maclaurins series.

Don't you find Maclaurins especially excitable, just like a public holiday or soap bubbles popping?

7) Make a new frienemy.

Its a cross-breed between a friend and an enemy and its all the rage in Japan, Korea and Taiwan. Even well known stars are rumoured to follow this trend.

Got a scapel in 1 hand? Tweezers in the other? What are you waiting for?

first time my class got a class blog. thx to Jerm for this bright idea.

been in this class for a term+, being a 3rd intaker =_= i think our class rox!! although i think im getting out of touch with the class, i dun even noe wat air pork and F4 mean. lol anyway i hope no one commits suicide over JCT. (nt worth it) and well i agree with li hui that JC sux but we have to make the best out of it.

and btw, i do have lunch with the class once in a while! about class plant, i think we have to do something. its being choked by the grass, i can hardly see it. the 22/08 placard is also gone =(

heyy peepps!

the class blog is finally out all THANKS TO JERMAIN! hahas.

being in this class for 4 mths plus, though a second intaker, i am staring to fall in love with this class. LOL. the establishment of F4 or air pork (thou the names really sucks and i dont like it!) tgth with the biggest ah beng jason, MCP keh yang, authistic jing-a-ling-a-ling and many many other stupidest thg our class can ever come up with really spices up life la. i bet everyone cant agree more that JC is driving us madd every second and we dread school everyday. guess all we can do now is just make most fun out of this class! thou all our nice nice hip kind teachers are gone. we shall cultivate new feelings for the new teachers okies? hahahs. all we shall form covalent bonds between us okies? promise? WOAH. JCT post effect. hmmm...

and WARNING to some 22/o8-ers:

1. SHAWN! stopp poking my arms. really got blueblack la. violent. X)
